Weekly (Pin) News

This week we will be beginning with some Toy Story 3 “news” (this seems like a weekly occurrence). First, we have a new (recently released), presumably final poster for the movie.toystory3poster

In theme park news, at Wednesday’s Shareholder Meeting, Bob Iger announced several new pieces of information. The first two regard the D23 Community of Fans. It was confirmed that the D23 Expo will not be returning this year (2010), but will become an “Every Other Year” event and return in 2011. We posted more information on Wednesday.D23Expo11_Head

Another event announced was the other “every other year” event, Destination D, which will be a two day event on even number years, in the same time of the D23 Expos (early September). This year’s theme is Disneyland 55 and is a D23 Member Exclusive, unlike the D23 Expo. More information was posted on Wednesday.

Onto the pins… We’ll start with two pieces of Vinylmation Pin News.

To be released April 8th in Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. The set will be of several 9in Vinylmations from Urban Series #3.

This limited edition mystery collection features Mickey Mouse in various artistic styles. Each box contains two (2) pins, and an additional mystery pin of one of five different styles from the Urban #3 Vinylmation™ collection. The pins measure approximately 2.75" tall by 1.5" wide.

This set will be $44.95 with an 750 LE of each pin. I guess we will have to see if this is a new thing. It seems that these pins are three dimensional with add ons to them and not just flat Vinylmation Pins, like we have seen before.
